DESCRIPTION

ISO/DIS 13715-2014 pdf free.Technical product documentation – Edges of undefined shape – Indication and dimensioning.
ISO/DIS 13715 specifies rules for the indication and dimensioning of undefined edges in technical product documentation. The proportions and dimensions of the graphical symbols to be used are also specified.
NOTE The undefined edge can only he specified in 21) drawings.
In cases where the geometrically defined shape of an edge (for example 1 x 450) is required, the general dimensioning principles given in ISO 129-1 apply.

ISO 3098-0:1997, Technical product documentation — Lettering — Part 0: General requirements 3 Terms and definitions
edge of undefined shape
transition line, included in an intersection plane, which is not defined on the nominal model and which exists between two adjacent integral surfaces
burr
roughremainderofmaterialoutsidetheidealgeometrical shapeofanexternaledge,residueofmachiningorofa formingprocess
NOTE 1 Examples arc presented in Figure 1.
NOTE 2 A burr Is an unwanted but often an unavoidable defect.
3.3 undercut
deviation inside the ideal geometrical shape of an edge
NOTE Examples are presented in Figures 2 and 3.
3.4 passing
deviation outside the ideal geometrical shape of an internal edge
4 Indications on drawings
4.1 Basic indication
The requirements for an edge of a part shall be indicated by the basic graphical indication shown in Figure 5. If all edges of a part are to be specified as undefined, the basic general indication is used (Figure 6).
The leader line shall be attached to the left end of the reference line. For angles other than 90%, the leader line shall be parallel to one of the two surfaces (see Figure 7).
The graphical symbol and the specification shall be represented in such a way that they can be read from the bottom of the drawing.
The proportions of this symbol are given in Annex A. Additional indications can be placed in the areas a1, a2 or Q3, see Figure A.1.
An undefined edge can not be described by the basic element alone. At least the shape of the edge must be described.
4.2 Shapeof an undefined edge
The shape of an edge shall be indicated in the area a1(see Figure A.1), inside the basic symbol. The symbol element + (plus), – (minus) or ± (plus or minus) is used in accordance with Table 1.
The symbol element + (plus) indicates permitted excess material in relation to the nominal shape of the edge; burr on external and passing on internal edges.
The symbol element- (minus) indicates required material removal in relation to the nominal shape of the edge; undercut of external and internal edges.
The symbol element± (plus or minus) indicates that excess material or undercut to the given limit is permitted. This can only be used only with an indicaton of size (see 4.4).
The deviation from ideal nominal shape can be controlled by Indicating the size of burr and undercut (see 4.3) and the direction (see 4.4).ISO/DIS 13715 pdf free download.
